Overview
Homeopathy is one of the popular alternative medicines available for a long time. The number of the people who choose this option has steadily increased, both in the urban and rural areas. However, Homeopathic practitioners are more prevalent in urban areas and hence the rural populace is missing the benefits of this system due to lack of availability of good homeopaths. Even when doctors travel to rural centers they can consult only a limited number of patients given the long patient interviews that are common in this system of consultation.
A remote consultation system such as ArguSoft's collaboration platform is most suited for such situations.
Approach
Remote centers, handled by a trained assistant, is connected through the Internet to the central homeopathy hospital. The homeopathic consultation is done online using ArguSoft's Collaboration Platform - Communicate@Work. The facilities for the patient to meet the doctor are made by the local community center.
Using Communicate@Work the patient and the homeopath is able to see each other, talk and discuss the medical issues. The whole session can be recorded and archived and can be very useful for later reference, training and audit purposes. The doctor can prescribe the medicines and potencies to the patient and are dispensed by the remote assistant at the remote center.
The Govt of Tripura is presently implementing this solution in 11 centers. This is being currently expanded and is expected to cover the full state in the next couple of years.
